Lithuanian Armed Forces receive new Mercedes-Benz G 350 d vehicles

The Lithuanian Armed Forces have enhanced their vehicle fleet with the addition of military-grade Mercedes-Benz G 350 d vehicles. This development follows a contract signed a year ago, with the first batch of these vehicles arriving on November 28.

 

“Lithuania’s military is rapidly modernizing, and its fleet is being supplemented with new and highly necessary equipment. Today, the Lithuanian Armed Forces can take pride in the new military-grade Mercedes-Benz G 350 d all-terrain vehicles. These vehicles are indispensable for both peacetime tasks and rear-area operations,” said Lithuanian Defence Minister Arvydas AnuÅ¡auskas.

 

 

The total value of the all-terrain vehicles purchase contract is nearly EUR 32 million, with all vehicles expected to be delivered by 2024. These vehicles will be utilized across almost all units of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. The troops will use them for peacetime tasks, logistical support in the rear, and other operations.

This acquisition represents a significant step in bolstering the capabilities of the Lithuanian military, ensuring enhanced mobility and operational efficiency across various terrains and conditions. The arrival of these specialized vehicles marks a milestone in the ongoing modernization efforts of Lithuania’s armed forces.
