According to Lockheed Martin, the new award reflects sustained global demand for the HIMARS precision-strike system. The company stated that expanded production capacity will allow increased output while maintaining the performance and reliability standards required by U.S. and allied operators.
“Every HIMARS launcher we deliver must meet the same rigorous performance, reliability and integration standards for the Army and allied forces,” said Carolyn Orzechowski, vice president of Precision Fires Launchers and Missiles at Lockheed Martin. “Our expanded production capacity allows us to increase volume without compromising the precision that our customers depend on.”
Lockheed Martin described HIMARS as a proven precision-strike capability designed for rapid targeting and engagement in modern operational environments. According to the company, the system can process targeting data and conduct precision strikes within seconds.
The company said the launcher’s compatibility with the C-130 Hercules transport aircraft enables rapid deployment to operational theatres worldwide. Lockheed Martin added that systems can become operational within minutes after arrival, providing commanders with increased mobility and flexibility in rapidly changing battlefield conditions.
According to the company, HIMARS has demonstrated the importance of long-range precision fire capabilities in modern warfare across multiple operational theatres. Lockheed Martin stated that the combination of speed, reliability and interoperability has made the system a central component of networked battlefield operations.
Lockheed Martin said it is simultaneously investing in next-generation munitions designed to expand the range and lethality of the HIMARS platform. The company stated that development efforts include extended-range rockets, multi-effect warheads and smart guided payloads intended to address evolving threats.
According to Lockheed Martin, these developments are expected to support HIMARS as a long-term component of modern force structure planning. The company said continued operational demand for the launcher reflects lessons learned from recent combat operations and the growing requirement for interoperable fire support systems among allied nations.
“Precision, speed and partnership are the three pillars defining today’s most effective defense capabilities,” Orzechowski said. “With this award, we’re delivering more launchers, preserving the highest standards and deepening the collaborative relationships that make HIMARS a trusted asset for customer and allies.”
Lockheed Martin stated that the new contract represents more than a standard procurement programme because it combines expanded production with continued emphasis on precision and operational effectiveness. According to the company, HIMARS is expected to remain a key artillery capability supporting coalition forces and providing rapid and accurate long-range firepower.
