Swedish technology firm Micropol Fiberoptic has signed a substantial contract with BAE Systems Hägglunds to supply advanced field tactical fibre optic communication systems for BAE's combat vehicle CV90, the company said in a press release.

The agreement covers the delivery of these systems for both newly manufactured and upgraded CV90 vehicles intended for Sweden and four other European nations, extending the contract through to 2032.

According to the Swedish company, production for this contract will be managed at Micropol Fiberoptic’s facility in Åled, near Halmstad, adding considerable volume to the company’s existing agreements with BAE Systems Hägglunds.

Micropol’s CEO, Peter Ljungkvist, highlighted the ongoing partnership, stating, “The new order is an important recognition of our excellent cooperation with BAE Systems Hägglunds.” He further added, “It is rewarding to note how Micropol’s experience of digitalisation and expertise in communication in harsh environments are recognised to offer operational advantages in the combat field.”
