The order covers Nammo’s 30mm x 113 PABEX and 40mm L/70 PABEX ammunition. PABEX stands for Programmable AirBurst EXplosive.
The ammunition is designed to engage drones, missiles and helicopters. It can also be used against surface and ground targets.
The agreement supports Swedish efforts to strengthen counter-UAS capabilities and national air defence. Nammo said the ammunition combines flexibility and precision against a broad range of threats.
The rounds will primarily be integrated with the Swedish Armed Forces’ Trackfire and TRIDON Mk2 air-defence systems. Existing CV90 vehicles equipped with 40mm guns will also be able to use the 40mm L/70 PABEX round.

The 40mm ammunition will provide Sweden’s existing CV90 fleet with an additional capability against aerial threats. The same ammunition type will also support dedicated air-defence applications.
Nammo said the framework agreement strengthens its position as a supplier of ammunition for modern air-defence operations. The company did not disclose the value or volume of the first call-off order.
