PGZ secures major order for 155mm artillery ammunition

By Defence Industry Europe

Poland's defence procurement agency (Armament Agency) has sealed a significant contract with a consortium of companies from the state-owned defence industry group PGZ (Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa) for 155mm artillery ammunition.

Under the contract, valued at approximately EUR 2.3 billion (over PLN 10 billion), Polish defence industry will supply “several hundred thousand” 155mm artillery shells to the Polish Armed Forces. Although the Armament Agency has not disclosed the exact number of shells ordered, PGZ stated that the contract encompasses nearly 300 thousand shells.

The delivery of this substantial order of artillery ammunition is scheduled between 2024 and 2029, as confirmed by the Polish Armament Agency. This pivotal contract aligns with the terms established in a framework agreement signed earlier in June of this year, marking a significant step in bolstering Poland’s military capabilities.
