At the end of February, South-Korean defence company Hanwha Aerospace delivered the second batch of K9A1 155mm self-propelled howitzers to the Polish Armed Forces.

According to the Armament Agency of Poland’s Ministry of National Defence, the second batch of howitzers from South Korea consists of 12 K9A1 artillery systems.

As Defence Industry Europe reported, the first batch of 24 K9A1 howitzers was delivered to Polish Armed Forces in December 2022.

These deliveries were made under the PLN 2.4 billion (approximately EUR 510 million) contract signed by Polish Armament Agency and South-Korean defence company Hanwha Aerospace for a total of 212 K9A1 artillery systems.

According to official announcements, all howitzers will be supplied to Poland in 2022-2026.

It is worth noticing that all K9A1 self-propelled howitzers of the Polish Armed Forces will be equipped with communication systems and TOPAZ Integrated Combat Management System (ICMS) developed by Polish defence company WB Group.

In addition, in February, Hanwha Aerospace signed a contract to purchase C2 systems from Polish company WB Group for integration into the K239 Chunmoo MRLS, which will be delivered to the Polish Armed Forces.
