Poland has received another Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II, bringing the number of its fighters stationed in the country to 10. Eight more Polish F-35As remain in the United States, where they support pilot and maintenance crew training.

The Polish defense ministry announced the latest arrival on October 27. Aircraft 3518 completed final assembly and testing at Cameri, Italy, and made its first test flight on September 15.

Deliveries to Poland began in May, and Lockheed Martin representatives have indicated that another two or three aircraft could arrive before year-end. Two further fighters, numbered 3519 and 3520, made their first test flights at Cameri in October.

Poland ordered 32 F-35As under an agreement with the United States signed in January 2020. The aircraft will equip two Polish Air Force tactical aviation squadrons.

F-35A deliveries are also continuing elsewhere in Europe, with Finland recently receiving two more aircraft to bring its total in the country to four.
