Aero Vodochody and Embraer have signed an annex that strengthens and specifies areas of collaboration based on a memorandum of understanding signed in June 2022. The Czech Minister of Defence, Jana Černochová, announced during a press conference that the Czech government has approved the acquisition of 24 multi-role F-35 aircraft. The total expenditure for their integration into service is projected to amount to CZK 150 billion (USD 6.48 billion). Dozens of countries which militarily support Ukraine, have once again met at the Ramstein airbase. Led by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, the meeting’s agenda included current information from the battlefield and the future development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and its capabilities. The Czech Republic was represented by Deputy Minister of Defence Daniel Blažkovec, who signed the so-called Letter of Intent with Defence Ministers of Denmark and the Netherlands. This agreement, which provides for further supplies of mostly Czech weaponry to Ukraine with financial support of Denmark and the Netherlands, represents a great opportunity for Czech industries.
