Teledyne FLIR Defense has been awarded a contract worth more than $35 million to supply surveillance systems for reconnaissance vehicles in Europe. The agreement was signed with WB Electronics, part of the WB Group.

The contract covers the delivery of TacFLIR 280-HDEP multi-spectral surveillance systems designed to enhance situational awareness and target identification. The systems are intended for integration into land-based reconnaissance platforms.

TacFLIR 280-HDEP provides daylight and thermal imaging alongside advanced video processing and aided target recognition capabilities. The system has been field-tested in Europe for nearly a decade, demonstrating reliability in demanding operational environments.

“The integration of TacFLIR 280-HDEP into the reconnaissance vehicles is a testament to our years-long collaboration with WB Electronics,” said JihFen Lei. “By providing warfighters the clearest picture of the battlefield through superior EO/IR imagery and intelligent tracking, TacFLIR technology will enhance situational awareness for military forces while reducing operator risk.”

The agreement marks the third contract secured by Teledyne FLIR Defense this year involving armored vehicle programmes in Europe. Previous announcements included the integration of Black Hornet 4 nano-drones on Swiss Piranha 8×8 vehicles and the supply of thermal imaging sights and radars for Bulgarian Stryker vehicles.

Together, the three contracts are valued at more than $85 million. They reflect continued demand for integrated sensor and surveillance technologies across European defence programmes.

TacFLIR 280-HDEP systems are designed and manufactured in Billerica, Massachusetts. The programme builds on an established partnership between Teledyne FLIR Defense and WB Group focused on enhancing operational effectiveness and safety.
