During the deployment, the bombers participated in 13 operational missions alongside more than 20 allied and partner nations across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. These exercises aimed to strengthen multinational cooperation and enhance interoperability between U.S. forces and their allies.
Major General Joseph Campo, Director of Operations for U.S. Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa, highlighted the strategic importance of these missions. He stated that the deployment demonstrated U.S. readiness and deterrence, reinforcing the ability to project combat power in a dynamic security environment.
Among the key training operations was FORTRESS HAIL, which involved dynamic targeting alongside NATO forces over the Baltic Sea. The mission also included the dropping of GBU-38 Joint Direct Attack Munitions, guided by U.S. and Finnish Joint Terminal Attack Controllers at Finland’s Rovajärvi Range.
The deployment further included long-range strike operations, air-to-air integration, and close air support training. A notable moment was the historic low-pass over the Swedish Parliament in celebration of Sweden’s first anniversary as a NATO member.
