The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s EPAWSS Program is scheduled to receive its first aircraft for the independent line in June 2026. The initiative was developed through a partnership between AFLCMC’s F-15 System Program Office and the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex.
The Air Force said the new line uses the sustainment capabilities at Warner Robins to create a more agile installation pathway. The service said the effort is intended to improve fleet readiness by increasing the pace and flexibility of EPAWSS integration.
EPAWSS upgrades are currently installed on F-15E aircraft during regularly scheduled Programmed Depot Maintenance cycles. While efficient for routine depot work, that process limits upgrade timing to each aircraft’s standard maintenance schedule.
The new Speedline will operate independently from the standard PDM line. The Air Force said this separation will allow installations on aircraft that may not be due for PDM for another five to seven years.
EPAWSS is designed to modernize the F-15E’s defensive and offensive electronic capabilities. The system replaces legacy Cold War-era equipment with a next-generation electronic warfare suite.
“The F-15E Strike Eagle remains a cornerstone of our tactical airpower and deep strike capabilities,” said Lt. Col. Matthew Heil, F-15 Program Office, EPAWSS Materiel Leader.
“The integration of advanced electronic warfare suites, such as the Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System, ensures the F-15E will not just survive, but actively disrupt and dismantle adversary kill chains in the most highly contested, electromagnetically dense environments,” Heil said.
“We are not merely extending the life of this platform; we are aggressively expanding its lethality and survivability to ensure it dominates the modern battlespace,” Heil added.
The Air Force said the integration of EPAWSS will help maintain the F-15E’s relevance and lethality against advanced adversaries. The dedicated Speedline is intended to support faster fielding of the system across the aircraft fleet.
