According to the ministry, 88,898 Russian personnel were eliminated through the use of unmanned systems. The remaining losses were confirmed through video evidence of artillery strikes.
The figures were compiled under the “Army of Drones. Bonus” programme, which records battlefield results in real time. The system allows Ukrainian forces to analyse the effectiveness of different strike assets and operational tactics.
In February alone, Ukrainian forces neutralised 27,313 Russian troops. Despite the shorter month and reduced enemy activity, this equated to an average of 975 Russian military personnel eliminated per day.
Ukrainian forces also reported intercepting 15,438 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles during the same period. For the second consecutive month, a record number of Shahed-type attack drones were destroyed.
The ministry also reported increased use of ground robotic systems in frontline operations. During the past month, 147 units reported carrying out missions using such systems, which represents a 25 percent increase compared with January.
According to the ministry, robotic platforms are increasingly being used to support frontline logistics. Their deployment allows certain supply tasks to shift to autonomous systems, reducing risks to service members while improving operational effectiveness.
Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Mykhailo Fedorov, said the data collected through the programme supports both operational analysis and technology development. He stated: “Thanks to the ‘Army of Drones. Bonus’ programme, we can see real-time data from the front line and scale the experience of the most effective units across the entire military.”
Fedorov added that the programme also helps identify the most effective technologies for battlefield use. He said: “We also analyse which technologies and strike assets are most effective at destroying enemy targets. Based on this data, we define requirements so that service members receive ready-to-use solutions — tested on the battlefield.”
The Ministry of Defence also published a list of the ten units with the highest operational performance in February. These included formations from the Unmanned Systems Forces, the National Guard of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.
Among the units listed were the 414th Separate Brigade “Birds of Madyar”, the Special Operations Center “A” of the Security Service of Ukraine and the 429th Separate Brigade “Achilles”. Other units included the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, the 412th Separate Brigade “NEMESIS” and the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
The ministry said reducing Russian manpower remains a central objective of Ukraine’s broader war plan. According to Ukrainian planning assumptions, losses exceeding 200 personnel per square kilometre are considered sufficient to make further Russian advances impossible.
