In collaboration with BAE Systems Hägglunds, the supplier of the vehicles, and representatives of the Czech Army, VR Group has finalized the specific design and functional characteristics of the driving, shooting, and crew simulators.
The final design of the simulators will be detailed in the final project, which will culminate in February 2025 with the Critical Design Review (CDR) process. The development of the simulators is closely aligned with the PDR and CDR milestones for the actual vehicle.
Experts from both companies are working intensively on a sophisticated simulation solution, partly based on components of the real vehicle.
“The industrial cooperation with BAE Systems Hägglunds on this project is a significant opportunity for us to establish ourselves internationally and to leverage our long-term expertise in the field into a specific simulation solution for the Czech Army. I evaluate the current cooperation very positively and believe it will deepen further in the future,” stated VÃt RyÅ¡ka, Chairman of the Board of VR Group, a.s.
The simulation system for CV90CZ is designed as a comprehensive training solution, fully integrated into the existing simulation infrastructure of the Czech Army. The system consists of driving, shooting, and crew simulators on movable bases, as well as computer classrooms and simulators for tactical training.
This setup will enable not only individual and crew training in vehicle operation but also group tactical training. An integral part of the delivery is the integration of all CV90 variants into the existing simulation systems to fully utilize the training potential of the provided solution in conjunction with previously established systems.
Notably, the use of hardware and software components from the actual vehicle ensures maximum fidelity in the CV90CZ crew stations.
BAE Systems Hägglunds also values the current cooperation with VR Group highly.
“I am really pleased that VR Group is demonstrating its qualities and confirming its long-term experience in developing simulation systems. I also appreciate how effectively our development teams are cooperating. The result for the Czech Army will be excellent, as they will receive both world-class tracked combat vehicles and top-notch simulation solutions in one package, which will be a significant qualitative change for training and using the CV90 system,” said Henrik Gyllencreutz, Program Manager of the CV90CZ project.
