Sky-Watch has been selected for a NATO Support and Procurement Agency framework that allows participating countries to buy its RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drone. The agreement covers procurement and in-service logistics support, giving members of NSPA’s UAS Partnership a direct purchasing route through the agency.

The Danish company announced the agreement on 28 September 2026. It said the framework could shorten the process of acquiring unmanned systems compared with national procurement procedures.

“We are particularly excited that this framework agreement provides NATO Allies with a significantly simplified and more direct path to procurement,” said Martin Schousboe, Sky-Watch’s chief executive officer. “As an alternative to what can sometimes be lengthy national procurement processes, it enables faster access to proven operational capabilities – particularly at a time when the need to field unmanned capabilities across NATO at speed is increasingly urgent.”

The unarmed RQ-35 is designed for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance missions by frontline units. Sky-Watch said the aircraft has been used in Ukraine and other conflict zones, citing its portability, resilience to electronic warfare and ease of deployment.

“Being selected under the NSPA framework is an important milestone for Sky-Watch and a strong validation of the quality and operational capabilities of the RQ-35 Heidrun,” Schousboe said. “In a highly competitive international market, we believe our selection reflects the strength of our technology and the operational value we deliver to our customers.”

The selection comes as Sky-Watch, part of AIRO Group Holdings, expands production capacity and its international business in response to demand for the RQ-35 and RQ-70 Dainn. The announcement did not disclose the framework’s value, duration or expected order volumes.
