The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) processed the first operational supply orders with Avio Aero for the T700 TE61 engines used by Italy’s Army and Navy NH90 helicopters on 3 September. The milestone advances the automation of engine maintenance and support, allowing customers to place orders directly.

The orders follow the signing of a Support Frame Contract between the NATO Helicopter Management Agency (NAHEMA) and Avio Aero. NSPA oversees the contract’s execution through its NATO @lectronic Material Support Information System, known as N@MSIS.

The system provides electronic material support services for NH90 and Tiger helicopters, giving customers online access to technical and commercial information. Users can place orders and track them through each stage to invoicing.

Supply orders are transmitted electronically through NSPA’s Automation Portal (NAP). Contractors use the portal to receive, review and accept orders, then handle delivery and invoicing.

NSPA described the first operational orders as a significant step towards greater automation in support of Italy’s NH90 fleet. Since their launch in 2001, the agency’s automation portals have processed almost 300,000 individual orders and more than 340,000 invoices.
