Elbit Systems secures USD 57 million contract to supply PULS rocket artillery systems to German Armed Forces

By Defence Industry Europe

Elbit Systems Ltd., an Israeli defence company, has been awarded a USD 57 million contract to supply its PULS (Precise and Universal Launching System) Rocket Launcher Artillery Systems to the German Armed Forces. This contract is part of a broader agreement between the Dutch, Israeli, and German governments.

The contract involves a collaboration between Elbit Systems and KNDS Deutschland, a leading European land defence manufacturer. Together, they will develop and deliver rocket artillery systems while integrating German C4I equipment, including command and weapons control systems.

The supplied systems will undergo rigorous testing by the German procurement agency BAAINBw and associated technical test centres. These procedures will ensure the systems meet all necessary requirements for approval and operational use within the German Armed Forces.

As part of the agreement, Elbit Systems and KNDS Deutschland will also provide in-service support for the rocket launcher systems. This support will ensure long-term operational effectiveness and reliability for the Bundeswehr’s artillery capabilities.

Yehuda (Udi) Vered, General Manager of Elbit System Land, expressed pride in the partnership with KNDS Deutschland. He highlighted the contract as a foundational step towards the Bundeswehr’s Future Long-Range Indirect Fire System, reinforcing the company’s commitment to European defence cooperation.

Ralf Ketzel, CEO of KNDS Deutschland, emphasised the significance of the partnership in developing a European Indirect Fire System for rockets. He noted that Elbit’s advanced technology, combined with KNDS’s expertise in European land systems, will contribute to the creation of the EuroPULS configuration.

The EuroPULS Rocket Launcher Artillery System is designed with an open architecture that enables integration onto various platforms. It also supports third-party munitions, allowing flexibility in operational deployments and enhancing compatibility with European defence requirements.
