ELTA North America awarded U.S. defence contract for advanced Multi-Mission Sensor Suite

By Defence Industry Europe

ELTA North America has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Defense to evaluate its cutting-edge Multi-Mission/Multi-Sensor Suite (M3S2). This advanced system is designed to enhance combat vehicle protection by integrating Active Protection, Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS), and ground surveillance capabilities into a single platform.

The M3S2 sensor suite combines radar and electro-optical technologies in a compact, low Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) configuration. This enables military vehicles and critical assets to achieve enhanced situational awareness and defensive capabilities, reducing reliance on multiple, standalone systems.

Joe Adams, CEO of ELTA North America, highlighted the system’s importance in modern warfare, stating: “As modern threats evolve, so must our defensive solutions. The M3S2 provides 360-degree tactical vehicle protection, seamlessly combining advanced sensors to counter a wide range of threats.”

This contract reflects the U.S. Department of Defense’s commitment to adopting next-generation technologies that improve battlefield survivability and operational efficiency. The M3S2 system is expected to play a key role in enhancing military readiness, addressing emerging threats, and ensuring the protection of personnel and assets.
