The MoU sets out a framework for cooperation in the integration of logistic and advanced superstructures, including air defence systems, as well as the assembly of military trucks. These vehicles are intended for use across the Hellenic Army, Navy and Air Force.
The companies said the initiative reflects a shared commitment to delivering mission-ready systems while reinforcing Greece’s defence autonomy. The partnership also focuses on expanding ELVO’s production line as a central element of the collaboration.
ELVO said the expansion is expected to create new skilled jobs and support the wider regional business ecosystem. The company added that the move is designed to promote long-term industrial growth and innovation within Greece’s defence sector.
ELVO’s manufacturing facilities in Thessaloniki will serve as a key hub for the partnership. The site has an established role in vehicle production, modernisation and support, and is positioned to contribute to future defence programmes.
RMMV brings a portfolio of logistical and tactical vehicles, ranging from militarised commercial platforms to high-mobility military trucks. The vehicles are available in multiple configurations and are designed for demanding operational environments.
The companies said the collaboration combines local industrial expertise with international manufacturing experience. It aims to create a sustainable industrial base to support Greece’s defence requirements while contributing to economic development.
“The collaboration with RHEINMETALL MAN MILITARY VEHICLES GmbH marks an important milestone for ELVO and for Greece’s defense industrial future,” said Antonis Vitetzakis, General Manager of ELVO.
“By combining ELVO’s established manufacturing base and local expertise with Rheinmetall’s global experience and advanced vehicle technologies, we are creating a powerful platform to deliver mission-ready solutions for the Hellenic Armed Forces. Just as importantly, this collaboration reinforces Greece’s national industrial capabilities, creates economic development opportunities for the country and positions Thessaloniki as a strategic center for defense manufacturing and innovation,” he added
