The two companies have formalised this collaboration with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Both firms have extensive experience in European defence programmes, including their contributions to the Eurofighter Typhoon, Tornado, and Future Combat Air Systems projects. This new agreement allows them to leverage their combined expertise to meet evolving security demands.
Alan Carson, ESG’s Director for Fixed Wing Aircraft, highlighted the importance of this partnership in addressing Europe’s shifting security landscape. Carson noted that rapid technological advancements require a resilient, responsive industry, and he stressed that trusted, long-term partnerships are essential for maintaining competitive advantage. “This MoU strengthens our regional cooperation and supports an innovative industrial base,” Carson added.
BAE Systems’ Tony Gilchrist, Business Development Director for BAE Systems Air, echoed these sentiments, emphasising the collaborative approach required to secure Europe’s future. According to Gilchrist, both BAE Systems and ESG are at the core of Europe’s major defence programmes, and this agreement will enable the companies to jointly develop cutting-edge technologies to meet customer needs.
