In 2018, Hungary ordered 44 Leopard 2A7HU tanks. In addition to the Leopard 2A7HU vehicles, 12 Leopard 2A4 tanks were also ordered for training purposes, along with 24 PzH2000 self-propelled howitzers.
Leopard 2A7HU is distinguished by its upgraded fire control system with mentioned optoelectronics and automatic target tracking system. Its armor has been reinforced with additional armor modules on the front of the hull, turret, and turret roof.
Deliveries of 44 Leopard 2A7HU tanks to Hungary are expected to conclude by 2025.
