The APSS is a multi-year, multinational programme aimed at enhancing cross-domain intelligence to support both political decision-making and military operations. It seeks to optimise the use of commercial and government-owned space-based assets, accelerating the collection and delivery of vital intelligence.
As part of the collaboration, ACO will gain access to ICEYE’s SAR satellite capabilities, known for capturing high-resolution imagery regardless of weather or lighting conditions. The standard delivery time for this data is eight hours, with some imagery available in less than one hour, supporting faster operational assessments.
This agreement builds on ICEYE’s recent announcement in March 2025, when the company confirmed it would provide satellite data to the Situation Center at NATO Headquarters (SITCEN). The ongoing cooperation strengthens NATO’s surveillance infrastructure with improved monitoring of sea, land, and remote areas.
“We are very pleased to strengthen our cooperation with NATO and to provide our SAR satellite data to NATO as part of the APSS initiative,” said Pekka Laurila, Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder of ICEYE. “Our proven satellites provide actionable intelligence for situational awareness and rapid decision-making for NATO and allied countries.”
ICEYE operates the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation, with 54 satellites launched to date for its own use and that of its customers. The satellites offer 25-centimetre ground resolution, delivering consistent and detailed Earth observation capabilities around the globe.
