Israel Aerospace Industries unveils ELLYON aircraft for electronic attack, ISTAR and standoff intelligence missions

Israel Aerospace Industries has unveiled ELLYON, a multi-mission aircraft designed to combine electronic attack with advanced intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance. The platform is intended to give operators a single airborne system for sensing, jamming, intelligence collection and real-time mission coordination.

The aircraft was presented by IAI in Tel Aviv on July 20, 2026. It is designed for standoff operations from hundreds of kilometers, reducing exposure while supporting electronic warfare and intelligence missions.

 

 

ELLYON integrates full-spectrum frequency jamming, SIGINT, long-range SAR/GMTI radar, electro-optical sensing and wide-band satellite communications. IAI described the aircraft as an “all-in-one” airborne platform for modern battlespace operations.

The aircraft can detect, collect and classify intelligence while conducting disruption and electronic attack against multiple systems. Its electronic attack suite is designed to operate across the electromagnetic spectrum against airborne and ground-based threats.

IAI said ELLYON can conduct radar jamming and communications jamming during the same mission. That capability is aimed at integrated air defense systems and advanced threats requiring coordinated electronic effects.

The aircraft uses an AI-based multi-mission management system. The system processes onboard sensor data, generates intelligence insights and sends them in real time to command centers, ground control stations and other aircraft.

ELLYON is designed as a platform-agnostic system. IAI said it can be integrated on several large business jet platforms.

The aircraft also includes a self-protection suite. That suite provides threat detection, warning, electronic countermeasures and protection capabilities.

IAI said ELLYON draws on operationally proven technologies from its intelligence, electronic attack and airborne portfolios. Those technologies include sensor miniaturization, advanced algorithms and AI-based software applications.

The aircraft joins IAI ELTA’s family of intelligence aircraft developed for the Israel Defense Forces and allied customers. IAI said those aircraft have accumulated extensive operational experience supporting air defense, intelligence superiority and strategic operational capabilities.
