The JUMP 20 system features a payload capacity of 30 pounds, over 13 hours of endurance, and an operational range of 185 kilometres. Designed for expeditionary missions, the aircraft can be easily transported and autonomously launched and recovered without the need for personnel intervention.
Italy selected the system following a highly competitive procurement process, seeking to replace its Shadow UAS fleet with a modern, versatile solution. JUMP 20 was chosen for its ability to meet the Italian Ministry’s strict technical and operational requirements.
“We are honored to strengthen our partnership with the Italian Ministry of Defence through the delivery of the JUMP 20, a system that enhances their operational capabilities,” said Shane Hastings, AeroVironment’s vice president and general manager of Medium UAS. “This contract builds on our history of supporting NATO allies with world-class uncrewed systems that reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation and mission success reinforcing our reputation as a trusted partner our customers can rely on.”
JUMP 20 provides advanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) functions with multi-payload flexibility and full interoperability with existing and future systems. Its Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) ensures fast integration, straightforward upgrades, and the adaptability needed for evolving mission requirements.
