Kubasik said L3Harris would work with international partners on additional VAMPIRE opportunities. He did not identify prospective customers or expected award dates.
The company is also investing in what Kubasik called “affordable mass.” That effort includes Red Wolf, a low-cost modular cruise missile.
L3Harris is developing Red Wolf with the U.S. Marine Corps. The missile is intended for precision-strike missions.
Kubasik did not disclose Red Wolf’s development schedule or planned production volume. He also provided no contract value for the program.
L3Harris is pursuing a position in the emerging low-cost interceptor market. Kubasik said the company has proven propulsion technology and in-house seeker capabilities.
Those capabilities could reduce the cost per kill, according to Kubasik. He did not name a specific interceptor program or customer.
The initiatives expand L3Harris’ work across counter-drone defense, precision strike and missile interception. Kubasik said the company would continue accelerating missile production while investing in lower-cost systems.
