L3Harris Technologies has received two multimillion-dollar contracts from TKMS for mast-raising equipment and electronic control units for German and Norwegian submarines. The equipment will deploy and retract payloads used for communications, surveillance and navigation.

“L3Harris is proud to play a major role in shaping the future of European submarine capability,” said Nino DiCosmo, president of Maritime, Space & Mission Systems at L3Harris. “Our partnership with TKMS reinforces our commitment to supporting European naval modernization.”

L3Harris said the equipment meets stringent naval requirements for safety, reliability and integration into modern submarine platforms. The company said high-grade materials and minimal maintenance needs help keep vessels available while reducing lifecycle costs.

The mast-raising technology has been used across numerous naval fleets worldwide, according to L3Harris. The awards build on its partnership with TKMS to support European submarine modernization.
