The company leads vertical integration for the division’s NGC2 effort, bringing together products and capabilities across the system. It worked alongside Rune, Anduril, Palantir and Raft during Lightning Surge 5.
The architecture is intended to give commanders the information needed to make faster decisions across warfighting functions. Lockheed Martin said it also supports greater survivability and dispersion on the battlefield.
During the event, high-resolution terrain information and tactical overlays were distributed to dismounted operators and command posts. Electronic signals intelligence was fed into the common data layer to support rapid threat assessment.
Sensor data supported digital calls for fires and cross-domain fires. Sustainment activities combined reporting and tracking to maintain a persistent, authoritative common operating picture.
Lockheed Martin worked with the division to define mission threads and integrate common data-layer products from Anduril, Palantir and Raft. Its personnel also made real-time adjustments while working with soldiers in the field and commercial partners in laboratories.
The event followed months of collaboration and engineering work. Lockheed Martin said future milestones would expand the architecture, with the aim of delivering validated capabilities ready for operational use.
