RENK America has been awarded a five-year follow-on indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity production contract by the Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal. The contract covers HMPT 800 transmissions and has a potential maximum value of up to $691 million over the next five years.

The company said the award is the fourth in a series of multi-year contracts supporting the U.S. Army’s medium tracked vehicle fleet. RENK America said it has delivered more than 4,500 transmissions since the THOR partnership began, supporting the growth and sustainment of that fleet.

RENK America said it has served as a trusted partner to the U.S. military for more than a century. The company said it continues to support mobility systems that keep mission-critical vehicles operational and ready to deploy when required.

The HMPT transmission has supported vehicles including the Bradley Fighting Vehicle for decades. It also supports the U.S. Army’s newest vehicle platform, the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle, by delivering reliability and performance in demanding operational environments.

“Readiness begins with a resilient and responsive industrial base,” said Corey Johnson, CEO of RENK America. “This award reflects the trust placed in our team and our proven ability to deliver the HMPT transmissions and support our customers need to sustain the fleet.”

“Every transmission we deliver contributes to the dependability and availability of the platforms that our Warfighters depend on around the world.” Johnson said the contract reflected the company’s role in supporting the fleet through production and sustainment.

RENK America said the contract demonstrates the importance of strong government-industry partnerships in maintaining the readiness of the U.S. Army’s ground combat vehicle fleet. The company said it will draw on decades of manufacturing expertise and a highly skilled workforce in Muskegon, Michigan.

The company said it remains committed to delivering the quality, performance and reliability required to support the nation’s defense. The award also reinforces the role of the Muskegon site in producing transmission systems for tracked military vehicles.
