The deal is valued at a figure in the mid-double-digit million-euro range and the ammunition is set to be delivered in 2023 and 2024.
This contract is part of a recent series of ammunition orders for main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicle, Rheinmetall said in a press release.
Rheinmetall’s ability to produce large quantities of ammunition quickly reinforces its reputation as a reliable provider of military products. The company’s product range includes tank and artillery shells, high-energy laser applications, medium-calibre ammunition for infantry fighting vehicles and air defence systems.
Furthermore, Rheinmetall is constructing a new production facility for 35mm medium-calibre ammunition at its Unterluess location in Lower Saxony, which will enable it to meet the growing demand for air defence munitions from the summer of 2023.
