Rohde & Schwarz secures contract to equip Dutch and Belgian ASW frigates with communication systems

Rohde & Schwarz has announced a new contract with the Dutch Materiel and IT Command (COMMIT) under the Dutch Ministry of Defence, to provide integrated communications systems for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) frigates in service with the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN) and the Belgian Navy. The contract will see the delivery of the company's NAVICS solution, a system tailored to facilitate both external and internal communications across multiple security levels, enhanced with advanced cybersecurity features for secure information exchange.

 

Bart Walraven, Managing Director of Rohde & Schwarz Benelux B.V., expressed pride in the selection, noting that the NAVICS solution was chosen for its multi-level security capabilities and flexibility to incorporate customer-specific requirements. Key customisations include modified voice terminals and the integration of Rohde & Schwarz’s communication control systems into the frigates’ Integrated Mission Management System (IMMS), ensuring seamless system performance for mission-critical tasks.
