The F135 powers all three variants of the F-35 Lightning II. Pratt & Whitney has delivered more than 1,500 production engines to customers across 20 allied nations.
The Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract covers initial spare-parts requirements. It also funds deployable spare packages, depot lay-ins and associated support equipment.
“Ensuring the F135 remains mission-ready is critical to the success of the F-35 enterprise,” said Chris Johnson, vice president of Pratt & Whitney’s F135 Program. “This contract will help strengthen our global sustainment network to ensure operators around the world can continue to rely on the F135’s unmatched performance.”
The F135 sustainment network includes multiple depot facilities worldwide. It supports 42 bases and 13 ships operated by F-35 customers.
Pratt & Whitney provides maintenance, logistics and technical services through the network. The company said this structure supports F-35 operations across global locations.
The company is also preparing the F135 Engine Core Upgrade. The upgrade was selected as the F-35’s propulsion modernization solution.
Pratt & Whitney said the upgrade will use the established F135 sustainment network. It is designed to improve fleet readiness and provide long-term support for global operators.
