GlobalEye combines Swedish and Canadian expertise, built around the Canadian-made Bombardier Global 6000/6500 aircraft platform. This platform enables long-range, high-endurance missions and ensures strong performance at all altitudes.
Saab’s proposal includes a suite of advanced sensors and mission systems, aimed at providing the Canadian Armed Forces with a cost-effective and sovereign solution. The company highlights the platform’s operational maturity, noting that GlobalEye is both in production and active service globally.
Through its partnership with Bombardier, Saab’s offering supports Canada’s defence and industrial policies by maximising domestic content and creating skilled employment. It also seeks to integrate Canadian companies into Saab’s international supply network.
“GlobalEye is a truly strategic asset – a multi-domain solution that delivers increased situational awareness and rapid response capability across air, maritime, and land domains,” said Anders Carp, Deputy CEO of Saab. “With Bombardier’s world-class aircraft made right here in Canada, and Saab’s proven expertise in radar development and advanced surveillance technologies, we believe GlobalEye represents a unique opportunity to deliver unmatched capability while growing Canada’s aerospace and defence sectors.”
Saab brings decades of experience in delivering AEW&C systems to NATO and allied partners around the world. The company underlines that GlobalEye is a modern and capable system already proven in international operations.
As Canada strengthens its commitment to Arctic defence and enhances cooperation with global allies, CANSEC 2025 provides a platform to explore strategic defence solutions. Saab’s GlobalEye will be among the key systems presented to Canadian stakeholders and defence industry representatives.
