The initial order covers Fennek reconnaissance vehicles and Panzerhaubitz artillery systems operated by the Royal Netherlands Army. The agreement includes options to extend Barracuda to other vehicle types.
The framework gives the Dutch defence ministry a standing route to place additional orders as its requirements develop. It also allows camouflage systems to be tailored to different sections of the army’s vehicle fleet.
Barracuda is designed to reduce vehicle detection across the modern sensor spectrum while maintaining battlefield mobility. Saab markets the system as a way to improve platform and crew survivability in different operating environments.

The agreement provides the basis for Saab to supply further vehicle-specific systems during its multi-year term.
Each Barracuda Mobile Camouflage System is made to fit the vehicle on which it will be installed. Saab offers woodland, urban and Arctic patterns for operations across different terrain and climate conditions.
