The missiles will be supplied to the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps, reinforcing their anti-armour capabilities. Neither the number of missiles ordered nor specific production details have been disclosed by the contracting parties.
This agreement follows a series of recent contracts, potentially as part of efforts to replenish U.S. stockpiles. In recent months, over 9,000 TOW missiles in various configurations have been supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The BGM-71 TOW missile system remains a key component of the U.S. military’s arsenal, integrated into combat vehicles such as the M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle and the M1134 Stryker wheeled tank destroyer. Additionally, portable launchers are still in storage and available for use by American forces.
Despite its long service history, the TOW missile family continues to be modernised to meet evolving battlefield threats. Recent conflicts, including the war in Ukraine, have demonstrated that the latest variants remain effective against advanced Russian tank designs.
