UAE: air defence systems intercept 12 ballistic missiles, 3 cruise missiles and 4 drones launched from Iran

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence reported that its air defence systems intercepted multiple aerial threats launched from Iran on May 4, 2026. The engagement included 12 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles and four unmanned aerial vehicles.

The ministry stated that the attack resulted in three moderate injuries. It added that the response reflects ongoing defensive operations against what it described as Iranian attacks.

Since the beginning of these incidents, UAE air defences have intercepted a total of 549 ballistic missiles. The systems have also engaged 29 cruise missiles and 2,260 unmanned aerial vehicles.

The ministry reported that total injuries have reached 227. Those affected include individuals of multiple nationalities, including Emirati and foreign nationals.

 

 

The statement also confirmed three martyrs, including one Moroccan civilian contracted with the armed forces. In addition, 10 civilian fatalities were reported, involving individuals from several countries.

The Ministry of Defence said it remains fully prepared to respond to further threats. It emphasized its commitment to protecting national security and stability.

The ministry stated it will firmly confront any actions that threaten the country. It added that such measures are aimed at safeguarding sovereignty, national interests and capabilities.
