Unmanned systems units accounted for more than 320,000 fixed-wing and copter-type UAVs. That total included about 220,000 fixed-wing drones and 100,000 copters.
The ministry said another 31,000 Shahed drones were shot down by unmanned systems units, mobile fire groups and army aviation. It said each interception reduced the threat to Ukrainian troops and civilians.
Ukraine uses DELTA to confirm engagements and collect operational data from the battlefield. The system allows forces to examine individual interceptions and expand successful methods more quickly.
The destruction of fixed-wing drones limits Russia’s ability to conduct reconnaissance behind Ukrainian lines. It also disrupts strikes and the correction of long-range attacks against civilian targets, including critical infrastructure.
Intercepting copter-type drones reduces Russia’s ability to locate and attack Ukrainian positions and equipment near the front. These UAVs pose a direct threat to troops and military assets in frontline areas.
The scale of the effort increased sharply during the final month of summer. Ukrainian forces destroyed almost 24,000 copter-type drones and 35,000 fixed-wing UAVs in August alone.
