The Raybird systems, which have been part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ arsenal since 2018, are advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Each system, priced at USD 1.2 million, includes three UAVs, a portable ground control station, an antenna system, a launcher, as well as a camera, a photo camera, and radars. These UAVs can stay airborne for 28 hours, cover a distance of up to 2500 km, and reach an altitude of up to 4500 meters. Skyeton’s Raybird stands out as one of only five UAVs worldwide with such capabilities, but it is more cost-effective than its global counterparts.
From February 2022 to May 2024, Skyeton received orders for over 75 reconnaissance systems from Ukraine’s defense forces. Production at the new Slovak plant began in the spring of 2024. This plant can produce 25 systems annually, with plans to quadruple this capacity after closing an investment round.
In Ukraine, Skyeton’s facilities can produce about 100 systems per year, but the demand from Ukrainian troops is for 140 systems annually. The new Slovak facility helps bridge this gap and offers a strategic advantage. Unlike Ukraine, which is under martial law that restricts the export of Raybird systems, Slovakia does not face such restrictions. This opens up opportunities for Skyeton to enter the global market and expand its customer base internationally.
With the new production plant in Slovakia, Skyeton is set to enhance its manufacturing capabilities and meet both domestic and international demand for advanced reconnaissance UAVs.
