The approved package includes nearly USD 19 billion worth of F-15 fighter jets, manufactured by Boeing, alongside additional military assets. These assets comprise tank cartridges, explosive mortar cartridges, army vehicles estimated, and AMRAAM missile, according to a statement from the Pentagon.
While the sale has been approved, the Pentagon has clarified that the production and delivery of the F-15 fighter jets will take several years, with the first units expected to arrive in Israel by 2029. The delivery of other equipment is anticipated to commence in 2026, although some experts suggest that certain items may be delivered earlier.
In its statement, the Pentagon emphasised the importance of this sale for both nations. “The United States is committed to the security of Israel, and it is vital to U.S. national interests to assist Israel in developing and maintaining a strong and ready self-defence capability,” the statement read.
Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant expressed gratitude for the U.S. support. In a post on social media platform X, Gallant thanked American officials for their efforts in ensuring Israel’s “qualitative military edge in the region” and reaffirmed the strong commitment of the United States to Israel’s security.
