Volz Servos GmbH, a renowned German specialist in actuator technology, has been awarded a significant contract by Airbus to supply its advanced DA 26 actuators for the SIRTAP high-end tactical Unmanned Aerial System (UAS).

The DA 26 actuators will be integrated into the air conditioning systems of Airbus SIRTAP drones, ensuring optimal environmental conditions for the sophisticated equipment onboard. Volz Servos’ CEO, Phillipp Volz, expressed immense pride in this achievement, stating, “We are extremely proud that Airbus has decided to rely on Volz Servos for the SIRTAP UAS project. This reinforces our conviction that our unique skill combination of agility and experience, high quality and reliability, and not least certifiability is convincing even for big aviation players.”

SIRTAP, designed for dual applications, will serve a broad spectrum of missions tailored to meet the diverse operational needs of both institutional and governmental markets. These missions include day/night operations and maritime Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) tasks, highlighting the versatility and advanced capabilities of the SIRTAP system.

Phillipp Volz further elaborated on the significance of the DA 26 actuators, noting their exceptional performance and reliability. “The DA 26 actuators are perfect for the control of SIRTAP air doors to ensure appropriate equipment environment due to the greatest-possible power delivery and maximum safety and reliability, guaranteed by a brushless motor and a contactless, wear-free position sensor,” he explained.
