Boeing has signed a contract worth up to US$32 million to support the Heavy Airlift Wing’s three C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft and maintain its training simulators. Work at Pápa Air Base in Hungary is scheduled to finish by the end of October 2029.

The U.S. Department of War announced the agreement on October 29, committing an initial US$23 million at signing. The contract is being handled through the Foreign Military Sales process.

The Heavy Airlift Wing conducts transport and special missions for the multinational program’s 12 participating countries. It also provides commercial services to other NATO and European Union members.

The aircraft have been supported through the U.S. military’s logistics system since entering service. This gives the wing access to operating experience and modifications Boeing develops for the U.S. Air Force.

Poland is a participant, with annual requirements of approximately 150 flight hours. Those hours can support transport links to deployed military contingents, special missions and humanitarian operations.
