HENSOLDT unveils advanced GMJ9500 man-portable RCIED jamming system at IDEX 2025

By Defence Industry Europe

German defence company HENSOLDT has introduced its latest electronic warfare technology at IDEX 2025, highlighting the GMJ9500 man-portable RCIED jammer. The system is designed to provide protection against radio-controlled improvised explosive devices (RCIEDs) for military and security forces operating in high-risk environments.

The GMJ9500 family offers a versatile and modular solution tailored for three primary applications: protecting infantry patrols, supporting de-mining and counter-IED operations, and safeguarding explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams. With a frequency range spanning 20 MHz to 6000 MHz, it employs advanced jamming algorithms to effectively neutralise threats.

Designed for mobility, the GMJ9500 system features a lightweight, man-portable structure, ensuring easy transport and rapid deployment. Its modularity allows operators to customise configurations based on specific mission requirements, providing flexibility across diverse operational scenarios.

Equipped with software-defined technology, the system can integrate new jamming waveforms, adapting to evolving threats. Additionally, it enhances operational security by jamming drone-controller frequencies, mitigating the risk posed by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The GMJ Mission Software plays a crucial role in optimising operational effectiveness, allowing precise programming of attack frequencies and blocked bands. It automatically calculates jamming waveforms and generates mission files, ensuring seamless deployment while maintaining compatibility with own-force communications.
