KNDS increases stake in RENK Group to strengthen strategic partnership

RENK Group AG has announced that KNDS N.V. has exercised its option to increase its shareholding in the company from 6.7% to 25.1%. The transaction marks a significant step in their strategic partnership and is subject to regulatory and merger control approvals.

 

This move reflects the commitment of both companies to deepen their collaboration in propulsion and mobility solutions for military and civilian applications. By leveraging their combined expertise, they aim to foster innovation and enhance value creation while maintaining RENK Group’s independent market position.

Dr Alexander Sagel, CEO of RENK Group AG, emphasised that KNDS’s commitment will strengthen their role as a leading manufacturer of mission-critical propulsion solutions. Philippe Balducchi, CEO of KNDS N.V., reaffirmed confidence in RENK and its management, highlighting the long-term nature of their partnership.

RENK Group, headquartered in Augsburg, Germany, is a global leader in propulsion solutions for military and civilian sectors. Its diverse product portfolio includes gear units, transmissions, power-packs, hybrid propulsion systems, suspension systems, and test systems.

In 2023, RENK Group generated revenue of €926 million, serving key industries such as military vehicles, naval and civil marine applications, and industrial energy markets. The strengthened partnership with KNDS is expected to drive further growth and technological advancements in these sectors.
