L3Harris Technologies has opened an engineering support office in the Netherlands to support the country’s 15-year FOXTROT program and customers across Central Europe. The Amersfoort site will provide local technical assistance and host customer demonstrations.

The company delivered the first tactical radios under FOXTROT in 2025. It will continue supplying hardware and technical support throughout the program.

The Dutch Ministry of Defence selected L3Harris as the sole-source supplier for FOXTROT’s Military Transition Building Block. The country’s Materiel and IT Command also signed a strategic partnership agreement with the company.

L3Harris chose Amersfoort for its proximity to Bernhardkazerne, citing FOXTROT’s support requirements. The company said the office would help it respond more quickly to customers on the European mainland.

“L3Harris will deliver best-in-class solutions to the Dutch armed forces, and the engineering office in the Netherlands will provide the MoD with increased technical support, faster response times and in-country support historically only found in the United States,” said Anthony Rodriguez, principal, program management, at L3Harris. “We are steadfast in providing the Ministry with solutions through partnership with local industry.”

Local hiring and industry cooperation

L3Harris plans to hire Dutch citizens to strengthen its in-country presence and regional support. It has already signed multiple letters of intent to collaborate with Dutch defense companies.

“L3Harris has a long history of supporting the Netherlands MoD going back more than 30 years, including the recent FOXTROT program,” said Sandy Olejniczak, senior director, business development, at L3Harris. “L3Harris remains dedicated to the FOXTROT program and is increasing its support as the program continues to grow and progress.”

The company plans further industry partnerships near the new office. It also intends to expand cooperation with government and academia in the Netherlands and across Europe.
