The orders continue L3Harris’ support for the German armed forces, which the company said has lasted for decades. The new systems are expected to be delivered this year.
“The battle-tested Falcon systems will enhance German forces’ secure, interoperable communications with European Union and NATO allies,” said Chris Aebli, President, Mission Critical Communications, Communications & Spectrum Dominance, L3Harris. “These software-defined systems and robust waveforms will give German soldiers and special operators more reliable connectivity under any circumstance – in all regions of the world – with the flexibility to add capability, as needed, through simple software updates.”
L3Harris said it has received multiple orders under the D-LBO program. The company said the latest orders will help support secure and interoperable communications for German soldiers and special operators.
The Falcon systems are software-defined and are designed to use robust waveforms. L3Harris said this architecture gives users the ability to add capability through software updates as needed.
L3Harris will continue to provide its German customer with in-region support and expertise. The company framed the orders as part of its ongoing role in supporting German communications requirements.
