The course is organised by NATO’s Defence Policy and Planning Division together with the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael. Its curriculum covers emerging threats, critical infrastructure, civil military cooperation, essential services and societal resilience.
“Resilience is critical to our peace and stability,” NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska said as she welcomed participants to the programme. “As part of this course, you will learn how to integrate civilian capabilities that are essential to our deterrence and defence.”
NATO said whole of society planning is at the centre of its approach to resilience. The course therefore brings together professionals from government, the military, industry, critical infrastructure, academia and civil society.
Participants will use the programme to share experiences and exchange best practices across those sectors. The course is also designed to strengthen their ability to cooperate effectively during a crisis.
