Poland signs new contract with WB Group for FlyEye Unmanned Aerial Systems

By Defence Industry Europe

On September 4, during the 32nd International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce, Poland's Armament Agency signed a new contract with WB Group for the delivery of six FlyEye Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) to the Polish Armed Forces. The contract, valued at approximately EUR 5.2 million, is part of an ongoing effort to enhance the military's reconnaissance capabilities.

The FlyEye systems, to be delivered by the end of 2026, will feature the latest upgrades in version 3.6, including improved navigation systems, enhanced security measures, and integration with the Automated Fire Control System (ZZKO) TOPAZ. These enhancements aim to provide better performance and operational reliability.

This is the second contract signed under a framework agreement established on 5th September 2023, also during the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce, which outlines the delivery of around 400 FlyEye systems. The first contract under this framework, for seven systems, was signed on 19th April of this year. Additionally, FlyEye drones have been acquired through previous agreements made in earlier years.

The FlyEye UAS is designed for aerial reconnaissance using electro-optical heads equipped with cameras that capture images in both daylight and infrared conditions. The system has proven effective in service with the Polish Armed Forces, supporting both Operational Forces and the Territorial Defence Forces. It has also been deployed in combat operations in Ukraine, demonstrating its capabilities in real-world scenarios.
