Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles to supply 284 trucks to Norway

By Defence Industry Europe

The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) has signed a contract with Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV), a joint venture of Rheinmetall and MAN Truck & Bus, for the delivery of 284 new trucks to upgrade Norway's military vehicle fleet.

The delivery of these trucks is scheduled to take place between 2026 and 2027. The total cost of the new truck fleet amounts to approximately NOR 2 billion (approximately EUR 168 million).

The purpose of acquiring these new trucks is to enhance the rapid and efficient supply and transportation support for the country’s operational forces. The majority of the order consists of TG MIL 8×8 hooklift trucks, equipped with hook-on bodies capable of transporting cargo and containers. Additionally, a smaller number of hooklift trucks will be acquired specifically for the mobile air defense system NASAMS.

“With this contract, we are modernizing a significant portion of the Norwegian Armed Forces’ truck fleet,” stated Gro Jære, the Director of Forsvarsmateriell.
