The contract value is in the mid double-digit millions of euros and was recognised in the second quarter of 2026. Rheinmetall said production has already begun and the order is due to be completed before April 2027.
The ammunition package includes ER02A1 B/B projectiles, which are manufactured by Rheinmetall Expal Munitions in Spain. The DM72 modular propellant charges are supplied by Nitrochemie.
Rheinmetall said both the projectiles and propellant charges are already in service with various NATO countries. They can be fired from a wide range of 155mm weapon systems and are designed to offer long range and high effectiveness.
The company said the contract underlines its expertise in artillery systems. It also reflects continued demand for 155mm ammunition as Ukraine receives military aid from NATO member states.
Rheinmetall said it is continuing to invest heavily in expanding existing facilities and building new production sites. The aim is to meet rising demand for modern 155mm projectiles and propellant charges.
The Düsseldorf-based technology group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of large-calibre ammunition. Rheinmetall has been expanding its production capacity since 2022 and aims to produce about 1.5 million 155mm artillery shells per year by 2030.
