US State Department approves sale of Hellfire missiles to France

On July 7, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced that the US Department of State has approved the potential sale of Lockheed Martin's AGM-114R2 Hellfire guided missiles, along with related equipment, to France.

According to the DSCA’s statement, the anticipated contract is estimated to be worth USD 203 million. The cost includes 1,515 AGM-114R2 Hellfire missiles, technical assistance, and other logistical support components.

“The proposed sale will enhance France’s capability to address present and future threats, thereby bolstering its long-term defense capacity to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity in line with its national defense requirements. France is expected to seamlessly integrate this equipment into its armed forces,” the DSCA stated in a press release.
