The company designs and manufactures periscopes, driver-vision systems and sensor units for major land platforms in service across Europe. Hensoldt said the acquisition strengthens its Optronics division and expands its capabilities in vehicle optronics, situational awareness and rapid prototyping for defence applications.
“Nedinsco is a company with a strong track record, a highly skilled team, and a product portfolio that complements ours in every meaningful way. With this acquisition, we are securing a critical capability, deepening our presence in European land-platform optronics, and welcoming around 140 highly motivated colleagues into the Hensoldt Group. We look forward to working together and to the opportunities this acquisition will create,” said Hensoldt CEO Oliver Dörre.
Hensoldt said the financial impact of the Nedinsco acquisition on the group’s net leverage is expected to be offset by higher cash conversion and more favourable lease liabilities at group level. The company did not disclose further financial details in the statement.
Founded in 1921, Nedinsco has become a trusted partner to major European land-platform original equipment manufacturers. Its customers include Rheinmetall, KNDS and BAE Systems.
Nedinsco products are installed on platforms including Boxer, Lynx, CV90, Puma, Leopard 2A8, Fennek and Luchs 2. Hensoldt said these systems support the operational capabilities of important armoured vehicle programmes across Europe.
Nedinsco will continue to operate from its Venlo site and will be integrated into Hensoldt’s Optronics division. Its lean structure and local identity will be maintained, while the brand will carry the addition “a Hensoldt Company”.
Nedinsco employs approximately 140 people. Hensoldt said the acquisition adds specialist expertise and strengthens its position in European land-platform optronics.
