The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is recognised as the world’s leading airborne command and control aircraft, with a history of more than 60 years in service. Developed to operate effectively over both land and sea, it is equipped to counter global threats with state-of-the-art technology, ensuring comprehensive situational awareness and battle management.
Janice Zilch, vice president of multi-domain command and control programs at Northrop Grumman, emphasised the importance of these partnerships. “Our partnerships will establish a strong allied force of capabilities aligning to Poland’s defence requirements, developing Poland’s future airborne command and control capabilities. Northrop Grumman is committed to our partnerships in Poland that are enhancing the private and national industrial base while also helping build Poland’s national security,” said Zilch.
Exence, based in Kobierzyce, is already known for its significant contributions to NATO programs. The company specialises in secure solution architecture, AI-driven predictive maintenance, and core common services, all with an emphasis on interoperability. Its collaboration with Northrop Grumman marks a continuation of its commitment to strategic defence initiatives that align with Poland’s broader security goals.
The Polish Air Force Institute of Technology, known locally as Instytut Techniczny Wojsk Lotniczych (ITWL), has been an integral part of Poland’s defence ecosystem since 1953. Based in Warsaw and operating under the Ministry of National Defence, ITWL has been at the forefront of military aviation research and development, producing cost-effective and technologically advanced solutions. The institute’s work has earned international recognition, showcasing the strength of Polish engineering on a global scale.
The introduction of the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye to Poland would bolster NATO interoperability and enhance the nation’s command and control infrastructure.
